Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how SizeSnap (“SizeSnap,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the SizeSnap iOS application, its extensions, and related support pages (collectively, the “Service”). SizeSnap is primarily a local-first measurement and image-annotation tool. Your projects remain on your device unless you choose a feature that transfers them, such as iCloud Sync, export, or sharing.
1. Scope and your choices
This Policy applies to the Service and communications you send to us. It does not control Apple, Google, or another third party whose service you choose to use. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to their processing.
You can use core local features without creating a SizeSnap account. Some features require device permissions, an Apple Account, an App Store purchase, or an internet connection. You may decline optional permissions, but the related feature may not work.
2. Information we handle
Content and project data
SizeSnap lets you import or create photos, PDFs, folders, documents, measurements, drawings, text, custom images, and, where available, audio or video annotations (“User Content”). This content and its metadata are stored locally by default. We do not intentionally send User Content to analytics or advertising services.
If you enable iCloud Sync, the content selected by the feature, including project records and associated files, is transmitted to and stored through Apple CloudKit in the iCloud environment associated with your Apple Account. Apple processes this data to provide iCloud. If you export, print, share, or save content, it is sent to the destination you select.
Device permissions
Depending on the feature you use, SizeSnap may request access to:
- Camera, to capture photos and record video annotations.
- Microphone, to record audio and the audio portion of video annotations.
- Photo library, to import images and save exported results.
- Files and document providers, when you import or export files.
- Notifications, for optional reminders such as a trial-ending reminder.
- iCloud, when you enable iCloud Sync.
These permissions are controlled through iOS Settings. SizeSnap does not request precise location access.
Analytics, identifiers, and diagnostics
Release versions of SizeSnap use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. These services may process app interactions, feature usage, app and OS version, device model, installation or device identifiers, approximate network-derived information, performance information, crash logs, and other diagnostic data. Where available and permitted, attribution or advertising-related information may also be processed to measure acquisition and improve the Service. Some identifiers may be treated as linked data or tracking under platform rules. SizeSnap does not sell personal information.
Crash reports can include technical context surrounding a failure. Please avoid placing sensitive information in filenames, feedback, or other fields that could appear in diagnostic context.
Purchases and subscriptions
Apple processes App Store payments. We do not receive your full payment-card or bank details. Through StoreKit, SizeSnap receives limited purchase and entitlement information such as product identifier, transaction identifier, purchase and expiration dates, trial or offer status, renewal state, and revocation status. We use this information to provide paid features, restore purchases, prevent fraud, and troubleshoot subscription access.
Support and feedback
If you contact us or submit feedback, we process the email address, message, attachments, and technical details you provide. In-app feedback fields may be transmitted through our diagnostics and analytics provider. Do not include passwords, financial information, government identifiers, health information, or other sensitive personal information in feedback.
3. How we use information
We use information as reasonably necessary to:
- operate local editing, import, export, backup, restore, and optional iCloud features;
- verify purchases, provide subscription benefits, and restore entitlements;
- understand feature performance and improve usability;
- detect, diagnose, and fix crashes, errors, abuse, and security issues;
- respond to support requests and communicate about the Service;
- comply with law, enforce our agreements, and protect users, SizeSnap, and others.
4. When information is shared
We may share or permit processing of information only in the following circumstances:
- Apple: App Store billing, StoreKit entitlements, iCloud/CloudKit, notifications, and other operating-system services.
- Google Firebase: analytics, installation identifiers, performance, and crash diagnostics.
- Your chosen destination: when you export, print, email, save, or share User Content.
- Legal and safety: when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or enforceable governmental requests, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- Business transfer: as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.

5. Legal bases
Where laws such as the GDPR require a legal basis, we process information as necessary to perform our contract with you, pursue legitimate interests in operating and improving a secure Service, comply with legal obligations, and, where required, based on your consent. You may withdraw consent through device settings or by contacting us, without affecting earlier lawful processing.
6. Retention
- Local User Content remains until you delete it, empty the in-app trash where applicable, or remove the app and its data.
- iCloud data remains subject to your actions, SizeSnap’s sync behavior, and Apple’s iCloud retention and account settings.
- Purchase records are retained as needed to provide entitlements and comply with accounting, fraud-prevention, and legal obligations.
- Analytics and diagnostics are retained according to our provider configuration and only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above.
- Support communications may be retained while a request is open and afterward as reasonably needed for support, security, and legal records.
7. Security and backups
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Keep your device and Apple Account protected, maintain exports or backups for important work, and review shared files before sending them to others.
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection, and to appeal or complain to a data-protection authority. You may also have the right to withdraw consent and to opt out of certain sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or tracking activities. We do not sell personal information.
You can delete local content in the app, manage permissions in iOS Settings, manage iCloud through Apple settings, and manage subscriptions through the App Store. For requests relating to information controlled by us, email zzsoftservice@outlook.com. We may need to verify your request. Some analytics information cannot reasonably be linked back to you, and information controlled by Apple or Google may need to be addressed directly to that provider.
9. Children
SizeSnap is not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable age without legally valid authorization. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review the matter.
10. International processing
Our providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, transfers are made using recognized legal safeguards. Privacy rights and government access rules may differ between jurisdictions.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. We will post the revised version with a new “last updated” date and provide additional notice when required. Material changes apply prospectively unless law permits otherwise.
